Beginning Reading

There are no qualifying studies of Open Book to Literacy for beginning reading.

Upper Elementary School

OpenBook to Literacy has limited evidence of effectiveness for upper elementary school reading. The one qualifying study included in this review showed a mean effect size of +0.28.

Middle/High School

OpenBook to Literacy is not designed for middle/high school reading.

OpenBook to Literacy is a software program that uses a combination of voice, text, pictures, video, and graphics to teach reading in a self-paced individualized format, as a supplement to classroom instruction.
